Yes, particularly if it is your first trip to Seoul and the weather is clear.
From the upper levels, the city becomes easier to understand: the Han River, Olympic Park, Jamsil Sports Complex, dense neighborhoods and mountain ridges all appear within one broad landscape.
However, the observatory is not automatically worth the price on every day. Rain, fog, fine dust and low clouds can reduce the view.
Check the weather and air quality before buying a ticket with strict cancellation rules.
I have lived in Jamsil for more than 40 years, and locals often look at the tower to understand the weather. If the top is sharp and clearly visible from the street, the chances of a good view are much better.
A Word from a Local
A clear ordinary weekday is better than a famous holiday with a gray sky. The building is always tall, but the view is only as good as the air.
Seoul Sky at a Glance
Lotte World Tower stands 555 meters high with 123 floors above ground.
Seoul Sky occupies the upper section and provides a 360-degree panorama of the capital. The attraction includes observation areas, multimedia exhibits, glass-floor experiences, cafés and souvenir spaces.
Specific facilities can close temporarily for maintenance or safety.
The separate Sky Bridge Tour is a premium outdoor experience high above the city. It is not the same as general observatory admission and may depend on reservations, weather and operating conditions.
Do not assume it is included in a normal ticket.

How to Get to Seoul Sky
Take Subway Line 2 or Line 8 to Jamsil Station and follow the signs for “Lotte World Tower” and “Seoul Sky.”
The tower and mall are connected directly to the underground station area.
Main address: 300 Olympic-ro, Songpa-gu, Seoul
Do not follow only the signs for Lotte World Adventure. The amusement park is on the other side of the station complex.
When you enter Lotte World Mall, continue following the dedicated Seoul Sky signs to the observatory entrance.
What Time Should You Visit?
Best Overall: 60–90 Minutes Before Sunset
This gives you a chance to see Seoul in daylight, watch the colors change and stay for the night view with one admission.
Sunset is also one of the busiest periods, so reserve ahead when your travel date is fixed.
Best for Clear Photos: Weekday Morning
Morning light and lower crowds can make photography easier. This is a strong choice when sunset tickets are unavailable or when you want a quieter experience.
Best for Night Views: After Dinner
The night view is impressive, especially when roads and buildings are fully illuminated.
You will not see the geography of the city as clearly, but the atmosphere is more dramatic.
When to Reconsider
The tower’s upper floors are hidden by clouds
Heavy rain or snow is expected
Fine-dust or visibility forecasts are poor
You have only scheduled 30 minutes between other reservations
The observatory is not a place to rush. Getting upstairs, moving through the exhibits and waiting at popular windows all take time.
Which Seoul Sky Ticket Should You Buy?
Ticket types, prices, operating hours and packages can change.
The official ticket page may offer general admission, faster-entry products or a package combining Seoul Sky and Lotte World Aquarium.

The aquarium package can make sense if you have at least half a day.
It is not a bargain if you spend the whole afternoon checking the clock and dragging tired companions from one entrance to another.

The Elevator and Introductory Experience
The trip upward is part of the attraction. Follow the staff instructions and keep your ticket available because the entry process may involve several stages.
Daytime Panorama
On a clear day, look first for the Han River, Olympic Park and Jamsil Sports Complex.
Finding familiar landmarks makes the scale of Seoul easier to understand than simply looking at thousands of buildings.
Glass-Floor View
The transparent-floor experience is popular, so there may be a short queue for photos.
Give the person in front of you time, take your photograph and move aside. Everyone has paid to be nervous in the same place.
Cafés and Souvenirs
There are places to pause for a drink or buy a souvenir in the upper-level visitor areas. Do not plan a full meal around a specific venue without checking current operations.
Sky Bridge Tour
Travelers looking for a stronger thrill can check the separate Sky Bridge Tour.
Availability may be limited and weather-dependent. Confirm age, height, health, clothing and reservation requirements on the official website before purchase.
Photography Tips
Clean your phone or camera lens before reaching the windows.
Wear dark clothing if possible; it produces fewer reflections in the glass.
Hold the lens close to the window without touching or damaging it.
Turn off the flash because it reflects back into the photograph.
Photograph the same view once in daylight and again after the city lights appear.
Leave room for other visitors instead of building a private studio in front of one window.

How Long Do You Need?
Quick visit: about 1 hour, if crowds are light
Comfortable visit: about 1½–2 hours
Sunset-to-night visit: about 2 hours or slightly longer
Sky Bridge or heavy crowds: allow additional time
If you have a restaurant reservation, leave more buffer than the elevator ride alone suggests.
The building is fast; crowds are not.
A Comfortable Jamsil Route
Early afternoon: Explore Lotte World Mall or visit the aquarium.
Late afternoon: Have an early meal or coffee.
60–90 minutes before sunset: Enter Seoul Sky.
After dark: Return to the ground and see the illuminated tower from outside.
Evening: Finish with a short walk around Seokchon Lake.
If Lotte World Adventure is your main event, do not force Seoul Sky into the same day unless the weather is excellent and everyone still has energy.
A good view deserves attention, not a tired sprint.
